The Town of Sandy Creek, the Town of Orwell, The Town of Boylston, and the Villages of Lacona and Sandy Creek, will fund a recreation program for the children of our community. The program will be held at Sandy Creek Central School.

The program will run from Monday, July 11 through Friday, August 12. Recreation will run daily from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.; we will take two field trips each week. On Wednesdays we will go to Sandy Island Beach, and on Fridays we will take another trip. There is no cost to attend the program, however there is a fee for each of the field trips. Attendance is not mandatory; children may attend as often or as little as they wish. Breakfast and lunch will be provided every day Monday-Friday (including Friday field trip days). Children entering grades 1 through 6 are welcome to participate in the program.

In order to participate in the program, you MUST pre-register your child at one of the following times:
Monday, June 6 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Tuesday, June 7 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Thursday, June 9 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, June 11 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

All registrations will take place inside the entrance to the high school gym.

Please be considerate and make every effort to pre-register your child.

Our staff is working very hard to organize and plan meaningful activities. Registering your child late causes added work and disruption at the beginning of the program. Additionally, our camp is overseen by the Oswego County Health Department, and we have strict counselor-to-camper ratios that must be adhered to, so space may be limited. If there is space available, and you register your child late, there will be a $20 per child late-registration fee.

This year, our program will have four AmeriCorps volunteers on staff. Kendall Darling, Abigail Lantry, Madison Brown, and Carolyn Yerdon. These ladies will be station leaders through the AmeriCorps program and focus on fitness and nutrition.

This program is not run by the school, therefore, please do not contact the school with recreation related questions. Please direct all questions to Michelle Shirley, program director, at mshirley@sccs.cnyric.org or by calling (315) 408-8855.
