2018-2019 VRC Turning Point Season

This is the SCCS [Co.R.E.] 34000 VRC team’s fourth season of competition. The team has traveled to Kentucky for three consecutive seasons to attend the VEX World Championships. The team has grown from one team in the first season, two in the second season, and three in the third and fourth. The [Co.R.E.] team has been hard at work after their performance at the World Championships in April of 2018. Preparation for this season has been underway since May 2018. The team is looking forward to upcoming competitions as the Turning Point season gets underway.

The Team

Margery Yousey - Head Coder/Artist

Margery is a third year [Co.R.E.] member. She is a strategist, and the head coder of the team. She makes sure the robot is running smoothly and continuously writes and perfects countless lines of code. Marge helps mentor the new coders and has led the team to win numerous matches with her outstanding coding skills. Both outside and inside of robotics, Marge is an awesome artist. Marge is a quiet person until you get to know her and she makes many of us laugh with her witty remarks. Marge runs on chicken tenders and standoffs! Sadly Marge is a senior this year, and soon will be graduating from our program.

Margery Yousey

Jessica Graham - Builder/Designer/Coder/Strategist

Jessica, also called Jess,is a second year [Co.R.E.] member. She is a dedicated, hard working, and talented individual who has diverse skill set. Last year she was one of the founding members of the ‘E-Team’, acquiring over 650 hours during the build season. Jess has a solid understanding of robot design, building methods, and coding structure. She served as the head coder for the E-Team robot throughout the season and for VEX Worlds. She’s a talented artist and a big fan of musicals, often breaking into song with her good friends. Jess aspires to be an astronaut and is making steps towards her goal.

Jessica Graham

Sadie Lurcock - Strategist/Public Relations Manager

Sadie is a second year [Co.R.E.] member. She is our team’s one and only public relations manager, but is always ready to help our team wherever she could. She has a history of notebooking as well as scouting. Sadie is a student at Oswego County P-Tech (Pathways In Technology Early College High School Classes) Sadie is a great photographer, keeping record of what we are doing and staying on top of things. Sadie has the unofficial title of Party Planner, and keeps careful track of the days remaining until Christmas.

Hailey McNitt - Builder/Designer/Driver

Hailey is a second year [Co.R.E.] member. She spends her practices working on our competition bots but as well as helping teach new members. She is a great asset to the team, and she contributes greatly in any field. Hailey’s knowledge of robotics is constantly growing and she is dedicated to helping our team. Outside of practice she is great friend to anyone and enjoys reading and spending time with her friends.

Hailey McNitt

Kendra Poyneer - Coder/Builder

Kendra is a second year [Co.R.E.] member. During practice, Kendra is constantly learning about new coding techniques, and refining and creating code. She enjoys building as well as coding, and has made several contributions to both our robots and notebook. When she isn’t building robots and writing notebook entries, she spends her free time sketching and listening to music.

Kendra Poyneer

Annie Chen - Coder/Journalist/Web Designer

Annie is a first year [Co.R.E.] member, who spends her time at robotics working on the team journal. She codes our robots, and works on our websites and online challenges. Annie is glad to take on challenges other members avoid, always surprising us with a new way to contribute to our team. She might seem shy, but she is a truly kind person willing to help when necessary. Outside of robotics she is a talented musician and enjoys a good book when she can get it.

Kaleigh Doyle - Designer/Builder/Dreamer

Kaleigh is a first year [Co.R.E.] member. Although she is a little quiet, she’s always ready to help out and learn new skills. She spends her time at practice working on prototypes and helping other builders. She is dedicated to learning new ways to help the team.Outside of school Kaleigh is as well a student over at Oswego County P-Tech (Pathways in Technology Early College High School Classes)

Hunter Aurelio - Builder/Driver

Hunter is a first year [Co.R.E.] member. He enjoys spending his time making prototypes and building various systems for our robots. He is a talented designer who imagines creative solutions for our robots. He is a good friend and always willing to help when needed. Hunter may be a new member, but don’t underestimate him, he can pick up the skills needed for building quickly, and is on his way to being a experienced builder.

Reegan is a first year [Co.R.E.] member. He enjoys spending his time making prototypes and building various systems for our robots.
