Comet Pride is Community-wide!Fall Fashion Frenzy!
October 27th, 2016 by Caleigh Rosenbaum & Liz Hall
With Fall rapidly approaching, one trend on everyone's mind is not pumpkin spice, but burgundy; a color that everyone needs in their wardrobes this coming Autumn. With the release of Kylie Jenner's new burgundy eyeshadow palette, this is one fashion craze that is taking the season!
Combat boots, leggings, and dark lipsticks are among the must-haves for fall fashion in 2016. While dark lipsticks are reviewed below, where is the best place to get leggings?
This may seem like an easy feat. A few steps into almost any store will bring you to an entire section of black and printed leggings. But, most of these are $15 a pair and don't fit the way you'd like them to. The best place to purchase leggings, in our opinion, is Wal-Mart! These leggings come in a pack of 2 and cost a mere $6.
Now for the combat boots! These can also be purchased juuust about anywhere. But the cheapest place with the most options is Rue 21. Most times they have a BOGO free sale going on with shoes, and they come in a variety of colors. From our favorite, burgundy, to the simple yet sophisticated black.
Finally, there are tons of beauty products out there with a thousand different purposes. Some work fabulously, and some not so much. We're here to aid in your search for the perfect products that work for you. From Sephora to CVS, there were a few products that really stood out to us:
$20 Tartiest lip paint in the shade, 'frenemy"(Of course this is burgundy): SO PIGMENTED, but difficult to apply due to shape of applicator. Color lasts for about 4 hours. Overall: 8/10 on the lip product scale.
DUPE:
$6 NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade "Copenhagen": This lipstick is matte, long-lasting, easy to apply, heavily pigmented, and is a fraction of the cost of Tartiest lip paint. 9/10 on the lip product scale.
$21 Amazonian clay waterproof brow pencil: Easiest and most natural application I've ever seen for brows. Lasts hours upon hours without smudging. The only downside seems to be that the pencil only comes in 3 shades; taupe, medium brown, and rich brown. I'm somewhere between the medium brown and rich brown so this was a major issue for me and I don't recommend buying this without trying the colors on your actual eyebrows first. Overall: 9/10 on the brow product scale.
$16 L'Oreal Paris La Palette Nude 1: Moderate pigmentation, but easy to layer and blend. No creasing what so ever, and great for smokey eyes, dramatic looks, and natural looks. Comes with a SUPER handy brush. I got this palette about a year ago and the brush is still my favorite for blending darker colors at the corner of the eye. Overall: 9/10 on the eyeshadow scale.
$8 Covergirl Outlast Lip Color: Lasted longer than I could monitor! I put this lipstick on at 8am and it stayed with only minimal fading until about 11:30pm. As long as you use the moisturizing top coat throughout the day, you will have lipstick! In the few shades I have the pigmentation is moderate and both lipstick and included moisture top coat have efficient and easy to use applicators. Overall : 9.5/10 on the lip product scale!
Tip! Less is more, when it comes to eyeshadows. When trying new shades that you're unsure of, it's much easier to add product than it is to take it off.
