Sandy Creek Central School District
AnnouncementsSeptember 3, 2021
Dear Sandy Creek Elementary students and parents,
I hope this message finds you and your family safe and healthy. The past year and a half has certainly been challenging, but through it all, we are very fortunate to be living in this wonderful community. I want to let all of our families know that we are here for you and your children, so please don’t hesitate to call us with questions or concerns about school or your child. The Sandy Creek community continues to be a safe and supportive place for our children to learn and grow!
Earlier this summer, you received a letter from your teacher. They are very excited to begin working with each of you next Tuesday on our first day of school, September 7, 2021. The school day will begin at 8:00am and dismissal will begin at 2:55 for parent pick up. Students in grades K-5 will attend in person each day from 8am till 2:55pm.
Per the most recent NYS guidance and mandates we received, masks must be worn by all staff, students and visitors inside the school building at all times. Masks must also be worn on the school bus at all times. Please be assured that staff will provide frequent mask breaks for all students. If your child does not have a mask, we will provide one for them. Face shields are not allowed in place of a mask. If your child has a documented medical condition which will not allow them to wear a mask, you must contact our CSE Chair, Kim Manfredi at 315-387-3445 ext 1910.
At this time, we will not be taking temperatures or performing any COVID screenings. This is subject to change and we will notify you if necessary. As always, we ask that if your child is sick, has a fever or just doesn’t feel well that you keep him/her home and contact our school nurse or the office.
**Please return any chargers for your Chromebook or iPad. We still have many that did not get returned at the end of June.**
Parent Drop Off: Students can be dropped off at the parking lot doors beginning at 7:45am until 8:15am. Please pull up along the sidewalk and let your child out. There will be a staff member near the doors in case you need any assistance. For late arrivals, after 8:15am, you must bring them to the office to check them in.
Parent Pick Up: Parent Pick Up will be the same as last year. We are once again using PikMyKid and using the car line system. Please register using the app even if your child rides a bus as it will allow you to make dismissal changes using your device and the calendar in the app. We found this to be very helpful last year and we hope you will too. If you must pick up your child early for an appointment, we ask that you pick up from the main office before 2:30pm. We appreciate your cooperation and support.
Please contact my office at 315-387-3445 ext. 1110 if you have any further questions or concerns. Have a great Labor Day weekend and we will see everyone on Tuesday!
