May 22nd, 2017 by Nathan Grinnell
Many new spring season have opened up for both hunting and fishing weather , be it steelhead fishing or turkey hunting . All of these things can be fun but safety is top priority and to follow the rules of the state.
Turkey season starts May 1st and last until May 31st in Upstate New York. The hunting hours are 30 minutes before sunrise to noon. You are allowed two bearded turkeys each have to be killed on different days. There are plenty of turkeys out there you can see whole flocks in fields on the sides of roads.
On April 1st trout season opened ,you could see many anglers parked on the sides of roads for steelhead, brook trout, and brown trout. For steelhead there is a limit of one per day being at least
21 inches. For any other trout you are allowed to keep 5 of any size.
Whatever you are up to in your neck of the woods, whether it be fishing or hunting make sure to stay safe and follow all the rules and regulations and most importantly, have fun!
