History Club

January 28th, 2018 by Seth Lurcock

History Club
History Club, well, has some history in our school. Being one of the oldest clubs in the school, History Club has been all over New York, and even further. Advised currently by Mr. Rob Ferguson, the club has been to historical movies, forts, ghost walks, and so much more. Although Mr. Ferguson started the club in 2003, it has been since led by Mrs. Tanya Trudell, and Ms. Karie Elderbroom.
This past October the club headed down to Syracuse to complete a "ghost walk". The walk included a guided tour of some of the great cities history, and historical buildings throughout, and of course, ghost stories. History Club member Sydney Burgy, talking about the trip, said, "It was all really fun. I learned a lot more about the city of Syracuse and some of its monuments." "Some of the stops along the way had pretty fun activities and of course, candy." Previously, the History Club has gone down to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Advisor Rob Ferguson said, "We don't really know what else we would like to do for the trips. I need to talk to the students, see what they're interested in."
When asked what his favorite part about the club is, Mr. Ferguson laughed and said the food. He said that he enjoys the group of students in the club. "They're all good kids, which makes it that much more fun to do stuff with them." Whether you like History, or just an atmosphere full of good people, History Club may be the perfect fit for you.
