Varsity Boys Basketball

April 8th, 2018 by Madalin Vescera

The Sandy Creek Varsity Boys Basketball team has had a hard working season, coached by Bill Fowler, all focused on putting in more effort. The team consisted of Dustin Bryant, William Castor, Logan Haynes, Adam Hilton, Michael Landphere, Joseph Metott, Dakota Loomis, Logan Stone, and Sullivan Worns. They believed they were physically ready, but not mentally prepared for the game. Even though only one game was won, the team was still taught by Coach Fowler and Asst. Coach Dave Swarthout to "work with others to achieve a common goal, perseverance, showing up everyday to work hard, etc."
After talking to Logan Stone, number 40, he explained how he thought next season will most likely be better than this season because the younger kids on the team will have more experience from playing this year. If Logan was to give any advice to new players he would say, "to keep putting in time and they'll get better and to never give up". The strengths of the team are years of experience and knowledge of the game, but a weakness is taking losses in stride.
