Varsity Girls Basketball

April 8th, 2018 by Tori Jenkins

The Sandy Creek Girls Varsity Basketball team had a strong season. The girls scored six wins this season. This is the result of the hard work they put in over the summer. The team members are Grace Skellington (8th), Abby Lantry (8th), Cati-ann Blodgett (9th), Marley Yerdon (10th), Riley Dowlearn (10th), Crystal King (11th), Kyrsten Hall (11th), and Alexis Guyette (11th), with the coach being Michelle Shirley. The two eighth graders, Grace Skellington and Abby Lantry, have been playing since 5th grade. Kyrsten Hall was the all-star of the season.

Mrs. Shirley had some very positive insight to give. "It's been the first time in a while since the girls have won six games in a season," she said. "They're getting better". One of the oldest and wisest players, Kyrsten Hall, also had a bit of positivity to share. "It [this season] was great," She said with much enthusiasm. "I'm excited for next year". The girls basketball team is making their comeback. This year is only a glimpse of the bright future in store for this team.
