Comet Pride is Community-wide!Varsity Volleyball
May 4th, 2022 by Madison Lamica
The Varsity Volleyball team had a great season with a record of 15-4. The team is coached by Dori-Ann Hathway and assistant coach Margo Dillon. As a player on the team I can say its been a great experience. Volleyball teaches you mental and physical toughness. I've learned more than just how to play the game, I've been taught life lessons and given a family that I know will always be there. We faced tough competition in our season and we always put up a good fight. Our coaches, Mrs. Hathway and Margo were inspirational and always wanted the best for us. Our successes came from a lot of components. Our teamwork and bond that we had was unmatched. When that fire lit inside us we were a hard team to beat. We had something a lot of teams didn't, blockers that knew how to execute a block. I believe that this team will continue to be successful in the future as long as they keep the amazing bond going.
Every season we work hard and strive for our end goal, sectionals. When you make it into sectionals no other game matters, you have to forget about it all and focus on the now. This year for sectional finals our very own comet cluster attended the game and did not disappoint. The comet cluster always cheers us on and we pull our energy from them. We accomplished our goal and won the section III class D title. Winning a sectional title is such an amazing and memorable moment. I've been lucky enough to experience this twice. Ill miss playing this sport tremendously and I recommend playing it if you have the chance.
