Sandy Creek's Varsity Nordic (Cross Country) Skiing

Sandy Creek's Varsity Nordic (Cross Country) Ski team had a great season. Hannah White (11th grade) and Brayden Ashby (8th grade) were coached by Mr. Cheney and Mr.White. The team had a long and successful season full of classic and freestyle races. Their first race this year was on December 17, 2022 at Oscola Ski and Sport Resort and their last race of the regular season was Sectionals at McCauley Mountain on February 17, 2023. The team also competed in NYSRRA Nordic Races at Winona Forest. Hanah had a great first year skiing. Brayden was ranked 5th in Section 3, and went on to States at the Bristol Mountain Cross Country Skin Center. In the team skate relay race, Brayden and his Section 3 teammates placed 11th overall, and 1st out of the Section 3 relay teams. Hannah and Brayden were both named Section 3 Scholar Athletes.
