Over the late fall and early winter, the Science Club has been participating, and doing an assortment of things. This past November, some members of the club visited an "Earth Ship" in Adams, which is a house that is made of sustainable materials like tires, wine glasses, and soup cans, as well as other similar materials. Also in early December, the club also went to one of the STEM career exploration series events that featured the drug company of Bristol-Myers Squibb. They have a site in Syracuse that offers Central New Yorkers many job opportunities. The event talked about what it takes to be in the pharmaceutical-manufacturing business and what education you need for jobs in that field. In late December, there was a Meet and Greet with some members of the Sandy Creek Alumni members on what it takes to be in Science Career fields.
As for upcoming events, there is now plan to do a Spring Community Roadside Cleanup on Saturday April 16th from 8;30-11:00. If you are interested in participating in any of these events make sure to talk to any of the science teachers in the middle school or high school.
