More important than outer beauty, such as fashion, makeup, and physical appearance, is the beauty within. Most people today are too caught up with the way they look, ignoring other aspects of their life to focus on their appearance. Instead of doing this, people should focus on what really matters, which is the beauty that is inside each of us. The most important types of traits one can have are, kindness, compassion, and being an overall good person, not how "fleek" someone's eyebrows are, or how "on point" their outfit is.
Although it is fun to dress up and look nice, it is not at all something that should be considered a priority. Instead we should be enhancing our personalities to be more charismatic. We all have the ability to become better people that help build each other up and make each other feel beautiful.
In addition, many people do not appreciate their natural beauty, often times they think how they look without makeup is "ugly". Everyone has distinct features that make them beautiful in their own way and they should not be covering them up. It is important that everyone enjoys their appearance and is confident in the way they look without makeup. Instead of using makeup to cover up, use it to enhance the beauty you already have, accenting your features. Afterall, makeup is only supposed to be fun, and character is way more important than looks.
Since our school is not continuing the True Beauty program this year that is usually ran by Ms. VanOrnum, it is crucial that we all know what that group was created for. It was meant to encourage students to love themselves and realize that everyone is beautiful. It is very beneficial for us to talk about this and support each other in having self- confidence. Everyone is beautiful so their is no need to hide your features, the only way you could become more beautiful is by working on your personality.
