From being a fellow player of the Ontario Bay Varsity Hockey association since 8th grade; I have noticed two characteristics that seem to be suitable to describe all skaters on the team, insistence and adamance. Two adjectives that explain the team's entire season. To start the season off, Ontario Bay was in the skates of underdogs. Very few people were confident in the players. However, the team's new coach, Justin Keegan, brought a new style of play for the team and prepared the skaters for a more competitive season with the help of the team's captain from Mexico, Trevor Forsythe, who was the prime example to the team of how devoted a player should be to his sport. Third game in the season, Ontario Bay had an epic win against the Whitesboro Warriors in overtime; ultimately ending the 3 year losing streak and proving that they are a team that is ready to compete and win some hockey games. By the end of the season, the team had won two more games and was one game short to making sectionals. Although players will say they were disappointed, their adamance continues on and gives them the energy to prepare for the next season in order to earn the respect the Ontario Bay Hockey Association truly deserves.
