Astronomy

Here in Sandy Creek, while we do have a wide assortment of classes to take, none of the classes really go more in depth into things that you learn in some of the other classes you take. Some topics in these classes, especially Earth Science, really catch the Student's attention. Due to time constraints the information covered in some of the topics can be limited.
A really big topic that catches kids' eyes in Earth Science for example is Astronomy. SCCS used to offer this class but the teacher retired. I feel a good amount students would love to take this class and dive right into the wonders of astronomy. This class could go deeper into the study of black holes, mention a wider arrangement of celestial bodies, calculate orbits of other planets, and so many other things.
This class has everything it needs to become an actual class again except one key part: a teacher to teach it. Most teachers either don't have the time to teach a new class or just don't want to, but if one of them has the time and wants to teach it, then they can talk to administration. This was already a class in the past so allowing credits for this wouldn't be a problem. The students who want to take this class would really appreciate it!
