June 21st, 2017 by Lani Camp, Public Relations
Hear ye, hear ye, hear ye, by order of the king and queen, a Royal Ball was held to mark the graduation of the kindergarten classes at Sandy Creek Elementary School. The royal-themed celebration was complete with a castle, king and queen, knights and dragon, ladies-in-waiting, crowns and royal sashes, of course diplomas and lots and lots of smiles.
A full house of family and friends were on hand for the program which also included songs along the same theme with “Old King Cole,” that featured some guest fiddlers, “Sing a Song of Sixpence,” “I Am a Knight in Armor,” and “Come to the Castle.” Following the presentation of diplomas by the classroom teachers, the students participated in a poem reading of “Prince and Princess.” Then the dancing began with a royal waltz before breaking out into free dance with “Can’t Stop the Feeling.” The graduates then paraded through the crowd circling the room several times before heading back to their classrooms to continue the celebration.
