First Quarter Principal Awards at Sandy Creek Elementary

Cyprus Liszewski and Brayden Metott were the first recipients of the ‘Leadership Award’ presented by Sandy Creek Elementary School Principal Tim Filiatrault. Sandy Creek Elementary School presented first quarter awards to students at the school based on the Leader in Me seven habits: be proactive, begin with the end in mind, put first things first, think win-win, seek first to understand then to be understood, synergize and sharpen the saw. The awards were presented by Principal Tim Filiatrault to students in two separate ceremonies with parents and family members of the recipients invited to attend.

Receiving the ‘Be Proactive’ award were: Hunter Green, Brodi Martin, Haven Wielt, Malachi Sherwood, Olivia Euler, Triston Martin, Ben Hackett, Mikayla Glazier, Paxton Roberts, Jacob Keesey, Claire Willson, Gavin Gilbert, Keighan Miller, Finn Connors, Grayson Erhardt, Natalia McNitt, Malaya Caufield, Colton Bushie, Brooklynn Loomis, Lincoln McNitt and Mayson Drake.

The following students were recognized for exhibiting the habit ‘Begin With the End in Mind’: Levi McNitt, Hudson Hunt, Addysyn Liszewski, Alexandra Felio and Dakota Denny.

Students who ‘Put First Things First’ included: Dominick Moulton, Deven Lando, Grady Soluri, Peyton Brown, Chase Smith, Abigail Jones, Josiah Radley, Krislynn Harlow, Shane Allen, Layton Gibbons, Sarah Hackett, Burke Harvey, Emily Montonye, Colton Woolson, Tucker Nevills, Madden Soluri, and Elizabeth Hobbs.

Exhibiting the ‘Think Win-Win’ habit were: Christopher Williamson, Averie Thomas, Madison Darling, Emily Ruperd, Morgan Mears, Piper Phillips, Eben Alley, Callen Montieth, Danielle Lewis, Fiona Prairie-Rocca, Zachary Baker, Maiah Owen and Alina Khan.

The fifth habit of ‘Seek First to Understand Then to be Understood’ awards were presented to: Amelia Crast, Carl Cranker, Maylee LaRock, Madelyn Coe, Christopher Bunnell, Savannah Snyder, Adelle Harris, Praylean West, Hunter Soluri and Dayle Ridgeway.

The ‘Synergize’ award recognized students who work well together as a team: Kenny Gibbs, Alden McGrath, Cyprus Liszewski, Kameron Basler, Georie Pollic, Jake Berrios, Makenna Montieth, Brody Pecha, Parker Rathbun, Owen Killam, Ashlynn Trumble, Gabby Peter, Aidan LaPoint, Jaeden Darling and Emily Woods.

Recognized for the habit ‘Sharpen the Saw’ were the following students: Dylan Ashby, Landon Swarthout, Brayden Metott, Logan Pecha, Baylee Williams and Sophie Harris.

In addition to the seven habits awards, two special awards were presented. The first was an award to recognize the kindness and caring of a student who assisted a teacher who was using crutches and this student went out of their way to help and make sure they got to their classroom safely. The ‘Helping Hero’ award was presented to Tegan James Kinney. The second special award was the ‘Leadership’ award which will be awarded to two students each quarter. This award was presented to Brayden Metott and Cyprus Liszewski.
