The Sandy Creek 7-12 Band held their Spring Concert recently on a not-so-very-spring-like evening, but the audience was hopeful spring would come eventually.

The evening began with two movements by the high school percussion ensemble with members Annie Chen, Ashleigh Rosenbaum, Emma McDougal, Sydney Burgy, Crystal Palmer and Sarah Balcom.

After a quick break down and set up, the Middle School Concert Band took the stage and performed four songs “Marzo Zingaro,” “Ancient Moon,” “Avenger,” and “In Darkest Night.”

Next up, the High School Concert Band featured “Implacato,” “Andromeda” with a solo by Jordan Trudell on the timpani, “Scare Tactics” that featured music from the theme from Jaws, The Imperial March, Night on Bald Mountain and the Batman theme.

A recognition of the seniors participating in band broke up the final segment of the concert. Recognized were seniors: Brianna Snyder, Becca Miller, Cassidy Carnes, Allison Burrows, David Hennigan, Josh Balcom, Seth Lurcock, Emily Kehoe, Oren McDougal and Jordan Trudell.

A final song by the High School Concert Band was called “Beyond the Darkness” before the middle school band joined the high school onstage for the finale of the show, “Salsa,” featuring trumpet soloists Josh Balcom, Abbey Fitzpatrick, Margery Yousey and Charlie Shaw.

The Sandy Creek 7-12 Bands are under the direction of Tom Artini.
