The New York State Governor has given the decision-making power to the County Health Departments regarding High Risk Sports and the Oswego County Health Department has lifted the restrictions surrounding those sports. Though the restriction to play has been lifted, there are still many safety protocols that are in place to mitigate the risk of exposure and the transmission of COVID-19.

Sandy Creek Central School will be starting JV and Varsity sports practices for Basketball, Volleyball, Cheerleading, and Wrestling beginning Feb. 2, 2021. Individual practice schedules are being developed and will be available to coaches, athletes and families soon.

In order to safely resume high school sports, the Sandy Creek Central School District is expected to meet Oswego County Health Department expectations and follow the Interim Guidance for Sports and Recreation During the Covid-19 Public Health Emergency. We will be cleaning the building and practice facilities, along with implementing safety precautions to mitigate potential risks. Additionally, the county health department has stated that we are unable to have fans at sporting events. There will be no exceptions to this policy. We plan to stream games over the internet to allow families and friends to watch the games and matches.

We thank the coaches and community for their support moving forward for our student athletes.
