Lucky students find golden tickets with lunch

A number of Sandy Creek students were the lucky finders of golden tickets in school lunches!
The golden tickets were placed inside pre-packed meals to encourage students to support school meals and order school lunches instead of bringing them home, according to the food services team who ran the promotion.
The grand prize winner of a 26-inch bike was Zach Baker. Other winners included Jordan Gunner, Harrison Zimmerman, Garret Brown, Zachary Baker, Liliana Meluzio, Aiden Rudd, Alex Caufield, McKenzie Guthrie and Charles Matter.
Food Service Manager Tracy Sullivan said she worked with General Mills to sponsor the prizes, which included the grand prize along with gift cards to Amazon, Dollar General and double lunch coupons. There was one lucky winner in each lunch period.
"It definitely has led to an increase in student participation and will be run again next year," said Sullivan. "USDA is trying to push for free meals for all students nationwide, this is one of the ways to get our students involved."
