Comet Pride is Community-wide!Make Sense Shop Hosts Thanksgiving Feast
November 16th, 2017 by Lani Camp, Public Relations
Students and staff at the Make Sense Shop held their annual Thanksgiving Feast to say ‘thank you’ to the districts and their staff who support the program and to provide students an opportunity to showcase their shop and café to district personnel and invited guests.
The Make Sense Shop is a learning center operated by the Pulaski Academy and Central Schools, in cooperation with the Camden Central, Sandy Creek Central and APW Central School Districts.
The shop, located in the business district of the Village of Pulaski, offers a life skills job-training program for students. It features a small café and a gift shop where students learn many aspects of operating the business from cooking and serving in the café to running the cash register, creating crafty items offered for sale in the shop and banking transactions at the end of the day. The center also has a classroom area for more tradition instruction.
The Thanksgiving Feast is held every year as a way to say thank you to the school districts and business owners who support the program and make it such a success.
