Sandy Creek Central School District
Homecoming
By Olivia Rudd on December 22nd, 2021
The Homecoming dance is a time when students from grades 6-12 have the time of their lives among all of their peers. They spend their evening dancing and singing their hearts out. A DJ is present as well as the supervisors, which are mainly the class advisors. Snacks and drinks are at a table and they are sold to the students whenever they find the need for a drink or something to snack on .The concession table offered us pizza, chips and drinks. Water was definitely a necessity when someone has been on the dance floor all night long.
This year, the middle schoolers were a riot. They were screaming at the top of their lungs to their favorite songs. They formed a conga line and it was fun to witness the enjoyment as this night would have been some of their first school dances.
The high school dance was also enjoyable. We danced to various songs such as Wobble, Cupid Shuffle, and Dont Stop Believing. Every year at the high school dance, the DJ has played Dont Stop Believing'' for the closing song. It was sad for most of the seniors because it was their last Homecoming ever. Homecoming gets ignored by some students because they do not think it is that important but, during a pandemic and not knowing when school is going to shut down, You have to Seize the Day!
