Emily Wemmer, Principal at Sandy Creek High School has announced the top students for the class of 2018. Valedictorian for the class is Emily Kehoe and Salutatorian is Oren McDougal.

Emily Kehoe is the daughter of Colin Kehoe and Tammy Roberts. She will attend Clarkson University in the fall and plans to become an astrophysicist. In her spare time, Kehoe likes to watch movies, read, hang out with her friends and play video games. While at Sandy Creek, she enjoyed participating in Drama Club, spirit week, astronomy night and visiting Howe Caverns. Her advice to her fellow graduates is put yourself out there and don't let great opportunities pass. One thing she hopes to accomplish in her lifetime is to be happy in whatever she chooses to do in life.

Oren McDougal is the son of Jeff and Angie McDougal. He will attend Jefferson Community College in the fall to study Mechanical Engineering and will transfer to Clarkson University to complete his Bachelors Degree. He plans to become an engineer and find employment in Virginia. To relax, McDougal enjoys playing video games, watching Hulu and hanging out with his friends. While at Sandy Creek he has enjoyed being with friends; whether in sports, clubs or just in class. His advice to his fellow graduates is don't get lazy. It gets really easy to start slacking senior year, but staying focused will make the whole year easier. In his lifetime, he hopes to own a house in a rural area near a large forest.

Sandy Creek High School graduation is scheduled for Saturday, June 23rd at the high school.
