First graders at Sandy Creek Elementary School are spreading kindness throughout their school grounds as part of their efforts to be Good Comets.
As part of a lesson on citizenship, students discussed the importance of being kind to others and how small actions can have a big impact. To put their ideas into practice, the first graders participated in a Kindness Rocks project.

Each student painted a rock with bright colors and added a kind word or message. The rocks were then placed outside around the school, where they could be discovered by classmates, staff and visitors as cheerful reminders to be kind.

The project connects with Sandy Creeks Good Comet initiative, which encourages students to demonstrate respect, kindness and responsibility in their daily actions. By sharing positive messages in a creative way, students helped build a caring and supportive school environment.

Teachers said the project offered a meaningful way for students to express what theyve learned about being thoughtful and considerate members of their school community.

Now, as people walk around the school grounds, theyre greeted by colorful, hand-painted rocks carrying messages of encouragement, each one a small symbol of what it means to be a Good Comet.
